Vac beds

I need some advice please from Dommes and subs alike.

Today I sessioned with my Mistress and we had agreed that part of the session would be me in her vac bed.

When I was in Glasgow in July (see review, If it's Wednesday, it's Glasgow) , I was put into a latex mask but panicked and it was swiftly removed.

I had asked about a vac bed and was enthusiastic about this. I got in no bother , settled down, had the tube in my mouth and Mistress sorted everything out, She had given me a safe word to use.

As soon as she zipped up I started to panic, the material seemed to come down on my face all of a sudden and I uttered the safeword.

Couple of seconds late and I was out. Still the same, just very disappointed that I hadn't been able to continue with the vac bed. Why did I panic, I have no idea, the material just seemed to be there and that may have done it.

I might just be making excuses but I really wanted to experience a vac bed.

Later on during the session, Mistress put a latex hangmans mask on me and I was fine. I thought that the Glasgow problem was a "one off" and I would be ok with my Mistress, whom I trust 100% but it seems it wasn't to be.

Have any Dommes or subs for that matter come up against this ?

There is obviously some fear or terror going on here, may be a form of claustrophobia. You could try working yourself through it, may be some hypnotism or just accept you have this fear as irrational as it might seem.

Personally I love vacbeds

I think maybe your mistress will be able to help you over this. I would say just try again. With her reassurance you will get over it I am sure.

Does she have any rubber that she could lay over your face, with a breathing tube preferably?

Then maybe extend the rubber to all over your body just to get used to the material pressing down?

A gradual introduction is best, slowly, carefully step by step and be patient with yourself.

I've tried my vac bed and have to say it can be pretty scary to start with. I wanted to know what it felt like for my guys getting in so tried it with a very well trusted friend. As you say it pulls in close to you very quickly. I experienced a slight sense of panic and thought I would have to stop it but in that split second I decided to ride the fear and it passed in a nano second to then let me relax into it. So I totally understand that initial panic. The good thing about the vac bed, unlike some other forms of bondage, is that as soon as you decide you've had enough the hoover can be switched off and the air returns and free's you up in the blink of an eye.

I've had people panic not just with the vac bed but hoods over the years. I find it can end up in a loop situation. When tried again they worry about the previous experience so cannot relax and the cycle keeps repeating itself. In those instances I take it right back to basics. Start again with just light exposure, like a latex gloved hand over mouth. Then when they are ok with that I go onto my most basic of basic loose latex hood. Then I move up and so on and so forth. You need to just recondition your mind to stop worrying about the previous panic situation and start conditioning it to enjoy the sensation again. It may take a fair bit of time, but in my experience it's worth it.

Hope that helps.

I have been fortunate that I was assisting my PD when she designed and built her vac-bed. The only problem I experienced was forcing me to relax, breathe through the mouth piece and make sure you have a good fitting air tube. It was very easy to relax the grip on the mouthpiece which immediately brakes the seal and funny thing happen as the vacuum is then sucking out the air from your mouth.

We experimented with Mistress trying the sac and she had real trouble with the breathing but did find it easier with a anaesthetic type of mask. Firmly over mouth and nose and it prevents the latex tightening over the mouth.

I found that a good sized mouthpiece worked better but even with that firmly in place, any external touching of the breathing tube can dislodge the seal and you have then to really concentrate on breathing to re-establish the correct mouthpiece position.

It is definitely worth persisting with as, once the breathing is regulated it a gloriously restrictive feeling.
