New members

Is there a problem in the software preventing new members from joining?

I can't find the post in question, but I'm sure I remember someone saying they had to email one of the mods directly rather than using the register facility, which wasn't working.

There was a problem with my old account which meant I had to re-register under a new name a few months ago, and had exactly the same problem.

Has it now been rectified?
If not, are the moderation team aware of this glitch?

Seems a shame to think the board is missing out on new members who may want to contribute but are unable to.

The moderating team have no control of the software.

We are aware there may be inconsistencies but it is out of our hands

Thanks for the speedy response Lisal.

So are you saying new members can't join unless they're aware of the method I used?

And if the moderating team have no control over it, who does???

Lisal 15-07-2019 21:33

Nope

We have new members still joining (not many ''tis true)

We have, as you say, had instances of existing members who haven't been around for a while not being able to log in again. Could be a number of reasons for that.

What also does happen is that there are a huge number of spammers trying to join every day. You can bulk delete these - I normally do this. It can be easy to miss one "true" new member amongst the hordes and they can get taken out, too. Pretty sure that was what happened in the case you mentioned. That would have been my fault

The owner has control of updating/fixing the software.

It was registering okay and showing up under "newest member" but the problem was the verification email never arrives.

Can you confirm whether any new members have successfully registered AND posted on the board using the normal registration method within the last, say, 6 months??

Yes!

Thanks Lisal, that's good to know.

There doesn't seem to have been many new members joining or contributing to the board in the past 12 months.

At least the new thread count is up. And some of us live in hope.

What this board needs is more members who are grounded, informed but with a lifetime's experience. And some female input would be good.

Less of the racist and sexist comments too. It's not a good look for an inclusive forum. Certain members seemed to have learned their lesson so hopefully we can keep on top of this moving forward.

The Bjorn Brimble Platform.

What would help this board is more contributors who have a genuine interest and participation of the kink/BDSM scene rather than those with none who use it to just lazily headline and link whatever woke politically contentious slogan they have read in the Guardian that morning...usually followed by an outraged adjective in coloured bold such as ‘disgusting !’, ‘shameful !’ etc. They usually have the arrogance to think their views are universally shared and cannot be contended and that everyone else just exists for their teaching. It is the cult of woke.

Having such disinterested sanctimonious judgemental self-appointed moderators is not a good look for a free forum. A certain member seems to have learned his lesson so hopefully we can keep on top of this moving forward.

Kind Regards,
