UKM security issue
 

So I logged in recently and things weren't quite the same

Message. You've requested to be 'delegated'. Posting and PM privileges have been removed for two weeks

News to me.

Anyway. I couldn't access PMs or reply to any posts. Just as the message said. And my staus said Banned.

But I could still access all the boards. And I mean ALL the boards.

Yep. Including the Inner Sanctum. I kid you not.

My understanding was that was strictly Mistresses only. Not even male mods were allowed access. So Mistresses could discuss Mistress-only issues. Or share info on dangerous clients. Or oddballs and weirdos. That kind of thing

So what the hell is going on here?

The software is very old and there is nothing the mods can do to change that - or anything involved in the back room of the site

For the record, I'd like to make it clear that I respected the strict women-only policy of the Sanctum.

As tempting as it was, I didn't click on any of the threads.

Well maybe just one. Only to see if other banned members could get full access.

It's a long time since anyone posted there anyway.

Best if we draw a line under things and move on.

Or maybe just delete the whole board. If that's possible?

That's not true Reefy. I asked to be banned and have my posts removed if the mods/owners were prepared to state that it was okay for members to refer to Mistresses using the pronoun 'it'

No hard feelings. I'm very happy to be part of an inclusive UKM and remain an active member on here. The owner/mods have handled a difficult and sensitive issue brilliantly. Plenty to be optimistic about moving forwards

In your request to be deleted there was no clause conditional upon the mods accepting your demands.

On the general subject of site security: In light of security breaches resulting from being banned then maybe in future it would be best to just delete a member’s account upon request. If that member then calms down and wishes to return they can always rejoin with a new ID. This has happened before and some members are already on their fifth ID, so identity No 6 will be of no concern to them.

It was not a test ........... it was deliberate and decisive action, I can repeat it at any time and just forget to set the 'lift ban after x weeks'
