How many
It was something said by Mistress S and Lady A in the "Ask a mistress" thread.
They are pro dommes who are in a position to choose wether to see a client or not. It surprised me to see that they only see 3 or 4 a week. So obviously cash is not on the agenda here. Well maybe a little bit. It got me thinking if there were mistresses out there who had targets to reach. Mistresses who had to see more clients than they would wish too. I'm guessing this is of course a sensitive question. If your like me you would have the mindset that the mistress was actually only seeing you that year. Makes you special. |

I am happy holding 6/7 a session's a month, though of course there are times when, i will have busy weeks as a few seem to be able to get away at the same time.
I did not see anyone last week, this week i have a session Thursday, Friday and a fantastic overnight and playday session booked on Sunday/Monday. Your right GS, its not all about the money for many of us, we are just lucky enough for it to not have to be. |

This isn't an Oub question, it's definitely DOI.
It's a good question. In my opinion if a Mistress needs to see more clients than she wants to she's either in the wrong job or she needs to increase her tribute. If she needs to increase her tribute she has to ask herself if she's spending beyond her means and potential. Seeing more clients than you want to is a terrible decision to have to make, both personally and professionally.

Definitely a DoI topic and a damn good question too
I do sometimes wonder how hard it is for those PDs, who are more reliant on the tributes to keep them going, to balance the desire to session as they wish to with the number of clients they need to see to get the right income I hope that makes sense - posting in a bit of a rush this morning |

Whether it is true or not is irrelevant because I've always remembered it, learned from it, and never bought more than I can comfortably afford. PDing can be pressurising enough without making it worse by overreaching yourself. I've only ever counted the cash in my hand. Never what's in the diary and absolutely never what I may think I'll earn next year, or even next month actually.

How often does it look as though we have a lot (for us) booked in, when it happens, i just know most are going to fall through, for one reason or another and they usually do. The the opposite can happen, not much booked and a few decide they need to see you as they have been able to get away. Swings and roundabouts, the trick is to buy what you can afford, or save up until you do, and never count your chickens .... |

Yes indeed ladies but there can be times where cash flow becomes an issue - especially if it is the sole income (I do realise PDs have partners and some work part time etc)
I was thinking (as I reckon GS was) that there may have to be a compromise at some stage - quantity v quality if you see what I mean Now I must go - after I put the clock right |

But this is why so many Mistresses film. Selling clips and subscriptions to member sites can create another income that helps plugs those gaps.

I made the mistake, a few years ago now, of taking on someone who I had a few reservations about.... because I needed the money at that moment..... I thought, "hey, what's the worst that could happen." The session wasn't a complete disaster but it was depressing as we didn't click and this left an effect on me. In hindsight, I didn't need the money and would have been absolutely fine without. I shouldn't have done it. Boy did I learn my lesson! But I guess one like that, in ten years of sessioning, I can probably give myself a break! If I had sessions like that on a regular basis, I would really lose my mojo and I'd probably lose more money than I'd make because I'd have to take time out to regain my strength. I'm sure it's the same in other self employed work .... but the intense and personal nature of pro domming.... you have to be really careful about balancing the work/enjoyment.
