Great to see our King with his Queen back on duty today.

During a visit to University College Hospital Macmillan Cancer Centre, he was asked repeatedly how he was feeling, and he replied…“I’m alright thank you very much, not too bad.”

‘Not too bad’, that is such a typically British attitude. Neither hope nor despair, just play it down and keep on keeping on.

The white hair suits him.

He was later asked by a patient undergoing chemotherapy how he was coping and our King replied: “It’s always a bit of a shock, isn’t it, when they tell you ?”. A bit…and then some !

One patient was most keen to meet the King and Queen when a man wearing a hospital gown asking people to make way for him told the couple “I commend you for being here to support us.”

Indeed, very commendable.

It has never been announced what cancer our King is fighting and we do not know exactly the full treatment and drugs he is receiving but whatever it is he looks well on it, which will be a great inspiration and hope for many.

Our Monarch back on duty and visibly being a reason for people to be positive and cheerful.

Don’t be miserable, live life in the major key.

Well, you might say they care but…

They seem not to protest much for the release of the Israeli hostages who were taken during the slaughter and rape and torture of 1200 civilians during the Oct 7th invasion and who are now held in Gaza by Hamas. You would think that would be a prerequisite to any possibility of peace…for anyone who genuinely cares.

Hopefully those five brave warriors and the driver are now rotting rat fodder amongst the rubble they made for themselves.

It is interesting that numbers of Jewish students are involved in the pro-Palestine demonstrations at over 50 American universities and colleges this week, against the Israeli war in Gaza, which has killed over 34,000 people and injuring twice that number, two thirds of whom are women and children and caused famine and displacement of most of the Palestinian population.

One of the top demands that students across the country have is for their universities to divest from companies linked to Israel or businesses which profit off of its war with Hamas and by proxy, the deaths of tens of thousands of Palestinian civilians, they argue.

“I’m a member of this community, and I don’t want this particular community to be profiting from apartheid, from war, from genocide,” Ariela Rosenzweig, a Jewish student at Brown University, was telling Radio 4’s Today this morning.

Also, during the night on the BBC World Service, an interesting interview with Bernie Sanders who condemned the killings and famine.

It's a real pickle, the US leading the humanitarian aid efforts by fabricating a pier ready to delver aid at scale to the starving people of Gaza in about a weeks time, while continuing with the provision of military armaments to Israel. These hypocrisies sit very uncomfortably, with Gen Z at the universities.

Time for the US to show leadership and stop this war, isn't it ? ...

It is not Israel’s war it is Israel defending and protecting its people from rape and slaughter.

Your repeated figure of 34,000 casualties* is supplied by the Hamas government, which are the same Hamas which conducted the atrocities against Jewish women and children. They cannot be trusted, to say the least, nor those useful idiots who parrot the claim without scepticism.

Compare this however with the deliberate attack and weaponisation of rape by Hamas on the women in Israel.

Those ‘caring’ students seem not to care too much about the rape and murder of young Jewish women of similar age to themselves. Rape and murder which Hamas have confirmed will be repeated again and again and again.

…unless they are stopped.

* Collateral casualties in war are usually predominantly women and children, which is obvious given women and children are the majority of most populations.

Ireland now seeking to impose a hard border with checkpoints on the island of Ireland to try and stem the flow of illegal migrants flooding back into the EU to avoid being sent to Rwanda.

Rishi is having none of it saying the Irish government “…must uphold its promises. We can’t have cherry-picking of important international agreements and so the Secretary of State is seeking urgent clarification that there will be no disruption or police checkpoints at or near the border.”

The UK has made commitments to avoid a hard border as part of the Good Friday Agreement, the Common Travel Area, and the Brexit Withdrawal Agreement, and Ireland must now face the consequences…or find its own Rwanda.

Dublin.
