Yeah but it is also about the client's filter, we are the ones looking to pay a fee. Especially if someone wants to be discreet, meeting in a public place could mean a sub is recognised or even worse worried about being spotted by colleagues or family.

I once had a pre session meeting with a Mistress as that was her way - to see if we were compatible.

That meeting cost me 2 vodka and tonics and a light bar snack.

I think any amount of money is too steep for a "screening process" - unless it is refundable from the first session fee.

The sort of client who would be interested in meeting her would find it extremely easy to meet her in a public place with no issue at all about being seen by anybody. People do have work meetings and appointments in public places without there being anything illicit.

She knows her market.

Indeed. Unfortunately, though, some people's filters don't always work and they end up in a bad situation

I remember a previous thread on here about a client losing a big amount of cash (£300 from memory) which he sent as a deposit. Hugely sorry for him and completely unacceptable behaviour by the domme in question - but as an experienced sub (as he was) I guess I would have thought he would have thought that through

Not right of course - but we do have to take responsibility for our own actions
