MA's departure thread got derailed a bit so let's use this thread to continue the discussion.

Mistresses don't post on here any more. It's hardly breaking news. But why not? It's not just down to Twitter being a better alternative. That's a coward's explanation and deep down we all know it.

MA didn't leave because Twitter served her needs better. Her departure should serve as a wake-up call.

It would be good to get some feedback and views from Mistresses on this thread. Those that lurk or used to post and check in occassionally.

What could we do better to make more Mistresses post? Is the damage done irreparable? Does UKM have a future as a male only board?

What we don't need is more squabbling, gaslighting, meltdowns and toxicity. Calling folk we don't see eye-to-eye with trolls. That kind of thing.

A bit of self-reflection and soul-searching will do us good. Yes mistakes have been made in the past. The mods freely admit that. But all boards evolve and adapt over time. There's no good reason why UKM can't make some adjustments and welcome back Mistresses again IMO.

I for one miss their input.

Let's aspire to be a vibrant, engaging, supportive community once again.

MA, although a Mod, rarely posted on here much of late.

As for other Mistresses ‘out there’ then there is much to lose and little to gain for them to post here. Then again, why do any of us post here ? Aggro for the trolls, sport for the troll bashers, and the occasional bit of BDSM for those of us still hoping for better days.

Some keep saying ‘make it Mistress friendly*’ but that doesn’t really mean anything. Terms such as ‘vibrant’ and ‘engaging’ are meaningless and in any case irrelevant when we just like to take chunks out of each other. That’s all it is now, the trolls have failed with ‘take’ and so have opted for ‘destroy’ and hence it has come to be as we see around us. Entropy, innit**.

If Mistresses returned then it would be much how it was in the original years of the forum, and like a house of cards it would just be unstable chat waiting for an argument to topple it all again. Mistresses are not a delicate species of flower in need of protection, and in my experience they can tough out an argument as well as anybody, but have more sense than to waste their efforts doing so. They are though perfectly welcome to join in the aggro anytime they wish.

They choose not to, strangely.

Which makes me think less trolling would help. Mothball the Oub and take a leap into the new future, else continue until lights out***.

None of this is difficult to understand unless nursing a wilful delusion about the situation and everyone’s role in our…errr…play ?

Amusing though to hear the trolls ask ‘Why do new members not want to play with us ?’ !!!!! Obviously no mirrors in a troll house, which I suppose makes sense for them.

Let’s leave it there please and - as we can see- the same old divisions appear with accusations starting already

If reefy and I do get control then we will be interested in ideas to make UKM more user/mistress friendly
