Calling I.T. experts
Firstly I have been daft. I thought that viewing videos or photos on my lap top direct from a USB memory stick would not leave evidence of those clips and photos on the hard drive.
The lap top is a company one. I had been using it whilst travelling. In Internet Explorer history I did find a record of them which I deleted via Internet options - browsing history. Do you know if evidence of the photos and clips will be anywhere else in the computer? Idid do a saerch for photos and Videos and nothing untoward came up.If ther is a record of them any where else how to get rid of them? I'm sure our IT technicians or HR will not approve of my masochistic interests. cheers putty |

Oh there will be a trail somewhere inside the laptop but its not easy unless someone sets their mind to delving into the deep dark spots that get missed with history, cookie and temp folder deletion. I hit the wrong sequence of buttons a couple of weeks back and up popped just about everywhere I had visited in the last few months and yet I clear 'everything' at least once a day (Gawd knows what the sequence was though ) |

You mentioned in your post both pictures and video clips. As they were in the IE history I assume that is where you were viewing the images on but it is less likely (though not impossible) you viewed the video clips using IE.
I'd certainly check out Windows Media Player (and Quicktime if it is installed) and clear any recently played lists or library references they have. Also you might want to double click on some innocent image and video files with the same suffix as the images and videos on the USB stick and check the applications opened to view/play them for a history record to clear. |

If I was you, then I would 'lose' the laptop somewhere along my travels.
I say start afresh and vow never to use the new one for naughty searches. This is the only way you will get 100% peace of mind. Mistress Sheba |

I wouldn't lose it. Do you have the ability/permission to run CCleaner or similar? If you do, do it, and select the most secure setting. Run it. Very few companies have the time and money to chase up stuff that might not be to the taste of all palates, but isn't illegal. Otherwise - consider coming clean?

I doubt they will be able to see the entire content, programs and files leave "bread crumbs" which will show a file name and type, as folly says very few firms will check to that detail unless they are investigating something. You could always run lots of "vanilla" films form the DVD play or endless BBC news that should camouflage things a bit

There is a kink-friendly IT person over on Informed Consent 'Computer Repair and Data Recovery' - see BDSM Services page. I'd give him a call and see if he can help.

There's also a portable version of CCleaner which you should be able to run off a stick without installation authority.
What's the operating system on the machine? |
