Browsing Records
Two words of advice from one who used to manage large computer systems for various customers.
1) NEVER use a works computer for anything but work. As has already been alluded to, people can and frequently do loose their jobs through abuse of their companies IT equipment. As the system is owned by the company and provided for company use, many big companies not only routinely monitor e-mails they also monitor web browsing. The company generally forces all browsing through their own proxies and therefore have full control. The content does not, necessarily have to be illegal, merely against company policy 2) Get yourself a cheap PC or laptop with WIFI and use some of the many hotspots now around or access the web direct from your home where you control the environment and remember unless you are really IT literate, there will always be a trace on your hard drive. If all you browse in 'legal' porn then you may be nothing more than embarrassed; if you look at child porn etc. expect to, and deserve to be prosecuted when found. Hope these few words of advise will save a few potential works browsers from loosing their jobs. Jo Nep |
