Default Choosing a new computer...

From an earlier thread...

A tablet with Windows 8 Pro and full Office desktop capability, 4GB RAM and 128 GB SSD and only a shade larger than the iPad.

Might be pricey but it looks like the Mutts Nuts for power users who don’t want to carry around a brick but need Outlook, Excel, Word, Project etc capabilities. So serious people will be able to do proper work on it.
What makes you choose a computer?

It looks like I will have to wait a while longer for my preferred option.

Up until recently I had been a fan of the Apple Mac. Very intuitive and very gooey. However, it is now a fashion item that is associated with aspirations of higher net worth. You see plenty of them lying around in movies and TV dramas. It’s another piece of kit for designer kitchens. Also, they are very popular with yummy mummies who brandish them with aplomb whilst sipping skinny lattes in posh high-end high street pubs.

It’s a personal statement that says I can afford more than a piece of shit Dell even though I only use it for emails and FaceTime. It’s a little bit ironic, don’t you think that the people who once chose a Mac for its unique operating system and quirkiness have now been replaced by another example of middle class herd mentality.

I do like the Mac construction quality but unfortunately the folk who use them are enough to put one off.

Hence, my longer wait for the Surface Pro, with full Windows 8 and the Intel Haswell chip.
