What a June...
For the England Mens team, my picks of the year will be :
England in Feb with five Test matches in India. In June they will travel to the Caribbean and USA to defend their Men’s T20 World Cup title. That will be paradise for the fans. What a brill way to spend June, if you are not going to the Euros. Then in September, England will host Australia for five ODIs and three T20Is. That man Glen Maxwell again...

Group Stage games v Scotland & v Australia in Barbados. Then v Oman and v Namibia in Antigua. Then who knows where we’ll play in the Super 8s IF we progress. Will the Yanks warm to T20? No reason why not. Will be interesting to see how many turn out for Netherlands v Nepal in Dallas I guess. |

Early days...
Quote:
It's doing okay for a non-American sport. MLS has now replaced Ice Hockey in 4th place, coming after American Foot ball, Basketball and Baseball. T20 is a bit of a slog fest and will capture American interest for the short duration of the match. One day would be a harder sell and 5 day test matches an impossibility. Five eight hour days for perhaps a draw, would not go down well with the American winner psyche. Not too many lbw’s in T20 and you don’t get reverse swing, so complex explanations are not necessary. Indian tech executives in Silicon Valley are putting substantial monies into MLC and lots of world class players of all nationalities are signing up for teams in the MLC. Soccer was seeded by the Hispanic community in America and the expanding Indian community is following suit with MLC. The MLC teams are allowed 8 foreign players each. Quinton de Kock, Anrich Nortje, Marco Jansen, Wanindu Hasaranga, Adam Zampa, Jason Roy et al, are signed up for MLC teams this year. If they can attract more players like Stokes, Smith, Kohli and Maxwell for future MLC contracts, then it will go the same way as MLS. If the money is there, so will be the players and the fans...
