Wonderful news to hear that our King is returning to duties and his cancer treatment is going well.

Camilla has turned out such a stalwart of a wife. One of those doughty never-complain indomitable older women who are the backbones of our society.

I know a few locally and their quiet determined Christian decency reminds me of why we are still worth fighting for.

She’s a good ‘un methinks…

From the best doctors in the country to immediate treatment and drugs that are too expensive for the NHS, Charles's cancer treatment differs from that of most other patients. No queues, no cancelled appointments, no demoralised clinicians and none of those cheap bog standard chemo drugs.

Nothing to admire here. The sort of privilege, that is denied to the vast majority of his loyal subjects.

The service on offer to patients at the private hospital includes meals brought on silver trolleys. Nice. I think I’ll go there on holiday, especially if the hard working taxpayer is picking up the tab. Not sure about the 'bloody stinking pens in the Bureau, though...

How do you know what drugs and treatment he is receiving ?

You may be petty and mean spirited and wallow in the hair-shirt virtue of a miserabilist, but some of us are pleased to witness a person’s return to better health from cancer, however it is achieved.

You are allowed to smile once in a while.

Most of the asylum seekers initially earmarked for deportation to Rwanda cannot be immediately located, the Home Office has admitted. Home Office documents show that of 5,700 asylum seekers identified in the initial cohort, the government had lost contact with 3,557.

They won’t be too hard to find. What with most of the people coming over in rubber boats being women and children liking for safe haven. They will be in some refuge I’m sure if it. Learning the ways of the country they want to live in, like English for instance.

CAA, of which the ‘openly’ Jewish Gideon Falter is an activist member, has worked with MPs from different parties and is a registered charity but a number of MPs and external groups have expressed concern about its political activity.

The group has continued to forcefully criticise Labour under Keir Starmer’s leadership, including the Labour leader’s visit to the Holocaust memorial in Berlin.

Two prominent Jewish parliamentarians, Margaret Hodge and Ruth Smeeth, have criticised CAA’s approach. “I’m fed up of CAA using antisemitism as a front to attack Labour. Time to call them out for what and who they really are,” Hodge tweeted after Starmer’s memorial visit. “More concerned with undermining Labour than rooting out antisemitism.”

Now that the amateur dramatics of Humza Yousaf’s incompetent leadership are dead and buried.

The SNP needs to move on from the Sturgeon era, and also needs to move on from Alex Salmond. In their day both were hugely powerful and influential figures capable of winning many thousands of votes, but that day has passed. The SNP needs Kate Forbes, not a legacy safe pair of hands, to take the party forward under a new generation of leadership. The past is a foreign country, they do things differently there.

There will be a bit of tension after the GE, if Labour clean up in Westminster and leave a SNP minority government in Edinburgh until 2026. Will Kate have the vision ? Swinney the Salmond and Sturgeon bag carrier has not...

It was widely commented last year how Scooterman had been (at best) useless in all his ministerial position and it was just a matter of time before he proved himself so as First Minister. Even so, I don’t think anyone quite expected him to bring the shit-show of ‘progressive’ politics down on himself in such a sudden and spectacular way as he has done. A week is indeed a long time in politics.

It is said that 10,000 hours of practice can make anyone skilled at a task. Humza was approximately 9528 hours into his apprenticeship as First Minister before the wheels came off in another striking (and entertaining) show of delusional and arrogant idiocy. Great stuff fella.

All he had to do was stay upright for another 20 days and he would have achieved ‘expert’ level First Minister. Och well, there it is…


They call it ‘failing upwards’ or being promoted to the level of incompetence.

P.S. Don’t expect the SNP to now make the choice they should have made by choosing Kate Forbes. She is far too pragmatic and intelligent and strategic to appeal to the ‘progressive’ Sturgeon fanatics who still hold power with the party.
