Oh no, Rob Reiner has confirmed a sequel to Spinal Tap is set to start filming in February.
Maybe it is time for a refresh and at least the whole team of Guest, McKean, Reiner and Shearer are back together, with cameos from Elton and Macca and others, so if they get the writing as good it might be okay. As Reiner has commented… “You don’t want to just do it, to do it. You want to honour the first one and push it a little further with the story,” It sounds from Reiner as if he is looking for that extra push over the cliff and put it up to 11. One better. It will be good to catch up with the band to see how the years and life have treated the trio. I’m guessing drugs and divorces and embarrassing recurring skin complaints will have taken their toll.  A high risk strategy to produce a follow-up so they need to remember it is such a fine line between stupid and clever. No mention of who the umpty-umpth drummer will be, but we can guess a few possibilities. Hopefully they won’t choke to death on vomit, or if they do then hopefully it will at least be their own this time. Kind Regards, Rimmer.
